Below is a list of some of the services provided by the DHHS:
- Help pay daycare costs
- Help low-income people buy food (SNAP)
- Oversees Medicaid*, a low-income health care program
- Provide food and nutritional support for pregnant women, new mothers and young children (WIC)
*Medicaid and Medicare are two different programs. Medicaid is operated by the state and available to anyone who meet set income limits. Medicare is run by the federal government, and is available to people 65-and-older or who have specific disabilities and conditions.

Housing
The Lincoln Housing Authority seeks to provide affordable housing for low-income families. Eligibility is determined by family size and income levels. This process can be long, and could take several months.
